ICM means that pest and fertility levels are monitored before pesticides or fertilizers are used. ICM programs look beyond pest problems and include other production decisions.
It is the monitoring of pests and nutrients in commercial lowbush blueberry fields. It also includes helping with the placement of honey bee hives, mapping weeds, writing drift management plans, and other services. Members in the program will be informed on a regular basis as to pest and nutrient conditions in their fields. Insect, disease and weed populations will be reported and control recommendations given. Leaf tissue and soil samples will be taken and fertilizer recommendation given, when requested. |
